Cape Wildlife Center

As you may know, we have decided to close the Cape Wildlife Center on February 28, 2017. As you can imagine, the decision was not an easy one. The CWC has been a great program in the area, and we are proud that we have served the Cape community and its wild animals for many years. We are extremely grateful to the talented staff and volunteers and all the members of the community who supported the center over the years and provided care to wild animals on the Cape.

The Humane Society of the United States and our affiliates have very robust wildlife protection and wildlife rehabilitation programs around the country, including a wildlife center in South Florida which takes in more animals (approximately 14,000) than any other wildlife center in the country, and one in San Diego County, which specializes in large native carnivores. The Cape's wildlife education program will be shifted to our South Florida Wildlife Center. We have major programs on wildlife advocacy and wildlife response and rescue, both in the U.S. and around the world. If you'd like to learn more about our wildlife work, please visit
